You can hear the voices before you even step inside—laughter, excitement, maybe tantrums.

The sounds of children just being themselves, embraced in the warmth of a space designed for them. As you go down the stairs, you step into Little Footprints, a sanctuary where children meet their peers, parents share experiences, and families create lasting bonds.

At the heart of it all is Helen, who welcomes every visitor with genuine care. With the support of the wonderful team at the Áras Cholmcille – St. Colmcille Heritage Centre, she ensures that no one goes without—whether it’s a warm cup of tea, a snack to keep little ones happy, or an engaging, creative activity.

But there’s no pressure here. Some parents have conversations, exchanging advice and stories, while others take a moment by the large window, simply enjoying the view of the city.

From the moment I walked in, I felt the warmth of the space—not just the physical comforts it provides, but the kindness and connections that fill the room. It’s a place that reminds you of the strength of the community and of how essential it is to have spaces where parents and children alike feel truly seen and supported. And as I left, I carried that feeling with me—a quiet joy that lasted for the rest of my day.
